2/17: 574 words. After a goose egg yesterday (only my third of the year), I returned with a good outing. I felt kind of like a pitcher that gets shellacked in one outing, and in the next, gets twelve strikeouts and pitches a shutout.

But what I really wish is that I could take another hour or two and finish writing this chapter. I’ve been waiting a long time for it.

Update on my goal for the year. We are at Day 48, and so far I’ve written 23,570 words. That puts me at an average of 491 words per day, and well above pace for the 100,000 I was shooting for.

Don't miss anything about projects I'm working on, new books you should be looking for, and articles about the craft and business of writing. I'll also give you the first three chapters of my novel, Vulcan Rising.
