2/10: 533 words. I had no idea what this chapter would be when I started it. No idea what needed to be accomplished within it. The “Notes” section of my story spreadsheet was entirely blank. I knew only that it was a moment of crisis within Middle Build I (Act 2, Part 1).

Either in spite of that or because of the freedom of not knowing, I build a chapter that has tension, humor, and conflict. It moves the plot forward. There have been revelations to the characters and opportunities for growth. It’s been a good chapter. And I’ll close it out tomorrow.

I’ve also passed 20,000 words for the year, well ahead of pace for 100,000 for the year.
